Educational Programs of Study
The Associate of Interfaith Theology (A.Th.) degree is a foundational professional degree awarded to seminarians prior to ordination to the priesthood. Its purpose is to give the requisite training for the professional practice of the ministry for those who do not already possess an associate’s degree, or equivalent, from a regionally accredited college or university.
The Bachelor of Interfaith Theology (B.Th.) degree is the primary professional degree awarded to seminarians prior to ordination to the priesthood. All candidates for this degree must have as a minimum an associate’s degree, or the equivalent, from a regionally accredited college or university.
The Master of Interfaith Theology (M.Th.) degree is an advanced professional degree awarded to seminarians after ordination to the priesthood. All candidates for this degree must have as a minimum a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
Candidates for the priesthood complete 107 courses (348 quarter credit hours) in the following core areas: biblical and historic research, comparative religions and traditions, ethics, history, liturgy, metaphysics, mysticism, pastoral studies, practicum, spirituality, science, language, anthropology, and theological and religious studies.
The average start to finish time to receive a Bachelors of Interfaith Theology takes 3 years full time. Upon completion successful candidates may apply for the Master's program. The Masters program is designed to take 4 years at a full time pace and successful candidates will graduate with Masters of Interfaith Theology.
